Science fun...

Today we saw a chemical reaction with our Rainbow Milk Science Experiment!  It was really cool! We learned about what happens when you have a chemical reaction!

1st we put food coloring in warm milk. Then we dipped dish detergent into the food coloring.

The colors EXPLODED! Here's why: Milk has vitamins, minerals, protein, and fat.  Mixing detergent with milk causes a chemical reaction to occur.  The soap molecules race around the milk trying to catch up with the fat molecules.   After our experiment, we drew a picture of what we observed!

It was a pretty fun day in kindergarten!

Wow! We have been so busy...

We have been very busy in kindergarten!  We have gotten to do so many cool things! Last week we went to the Science lab and learned about lab safety!

Then this week we got to go to the computer lab and learn how to use the laptops and the computers!

Mrs. Mirkes came to visit us today and told us all of the ways she can help us!

The library was so much fun!  Mrs. Hainlin read us Mr. Wiggles and taught us how to treat our library books! Then we got to check out our very own library book!

One of the most exciting things we have learned this week is Read to Self!  Right now we are building our STAMINA and we are up to 4 mins of reading by ourselves.
We also learned that there are 3 ways to read a book:
1. Read the pictures
2. Read the words
3. Retell the story

I hope everyone is having a GREAT week! :)
